Ashley White vs. The State of California (DUI Case)
The defendant was charged with a DUI. A LAPD officer observed her driving 65 mph in a 30 mph zone. When the officer pulled the defendant over and asked for her license and registration there was an apparent odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath. Her eyes were reported to be bloodshot and glassy. She also exhibited slurred speech and difficulty walking in a straight line when asked to exit the vehicle. She failed her roadside sobriety check. She refused to take a test to determine her blood alcohol level. The defendant was found not guilty by the jury.
Colin Watson vs. The State of California (Murder Case)
The defendant was charged with three counts of attempt at murder with gang enhancements. No plea offers were made by the prosecutor. After the preliminary hearing the court discharged two of the three attempted murder charges and dismissed all gang allegations. The defendant served two months in jail and was acquitted in an appeals court.
Robinson vs. Hart (Assault Case)
Jack Robinson was accused of assault by his neighbor William Hart. A verbal argument broke out regarding a mutual friend on the front porch of William Hart’s residence. Hart claimed that the dispute ended when Robinson picked up a near-by shovel and threatened to hit Hart if an immediate apology was not given. Robinson was acquitted based on eyewitness testimony.
Chris Jackson vs. Enterprise Rent-A-Car (Robbery Case)
Enterprise Rent-A-Car accused the defendant of robbery. They claimed failure to return a rental car valued at $45,000. The court was provided with a defense witness list, a credible alibi and further evidence stating that it was impossible for the defendant to have committed this crime. Charges were dropped.
