The firm itself was started in 1942 by Robert Smith, father of John Smith, with the partnership of civil litigator Jerry Allen and Criminal Law Specialist David Klein. The combined knowledge and drive of these three successful attorneys formed the foundation that helped shape the civil litigation world in Los Angeles.
